March 22, 2020
To the woodturning community,
First and foremost, I hope you all are well and safe! Our nation and indeed the world are facing unprecedented times. Social distancing, shortages, and confusion seem to confront us daily.
The Executive Committee and I wanted to ensure you that our first priority is the safety and well-being of our attendees, volunteers, demonstrators, and vendors, as well as the amazing people of Waco.
We are closely monitoring the situation as we prepare for the 29 th annual SWAT Symposium, August 28-30, 2020. As of today, we are still cautiously optimistic that the symposium will be held as scheduled.
Any future changes will be made based on the recommendations of the health community, local, state and federal officials, and hotel and convention center officials.
Registration is now open. Rest assured that if the unforeseen happens and we need to make the painful decision to cancel the symposium, all registrants will receive a full refund.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
We have a great symposium planned for you again this year. We hope to see you in Waco this August!
Respectfully,
Henry Pennell
President, SouthWest Association of Turners
